Mark Hurd: U.S. Higher Education Needs a New Business Model

In a recent LinkedIn post, Oracle CEO Mark Hurd states that U.S. higher education model needs disruption or it will break. He makes the case that despite a tradition of top performance, the current system exhausts family budgets and negatively impacts the long-term health of the U.S. economy. Hurd notes that insights and automation enabled by technology can help colleges improve their finances and enhance the student experience.

The insights and automation made possible by modern digital technologies can play an important role in helping U.S. colleges boost revenue, reduce costs, reallocate spending, and—most importantly—improve each student’s college experience, ability to learn, and chance of success.” – Mark Hurd
