In an interview with Inside Tennis, Mark Hurd discusses the current state of college tennis and how Oracle is helping young professionals compete on the pro circuit.
Hurd, who attended Baylor University on a tennis scholarship, is keen on giving back to the sport that was fundamental to his own professional development. And he sees many parallels between sportsmanship on the courts and success in the business world.

The Oracle US Tennis Awards were created to assist young American players as they transition from collegiate to professional tennis. This $100,000 grant from Oracle is awarded to one female and one male player to support their pro careers. Hurd notes how essential this support can be for players who no longer have access to college infrastructure, and references the success of 2017 recipient and now world top 100-ranked Danielle Collins, who used the grant to fund coaching, physiotherapy and mental strengthening.Read the full interview with Inside Tennis here.
