Oracle CEO Mark Hurd was re-elected to the Baylor University Board of Regents as vice chair of the Executive Committee at the board’s spring meeting. Hurd graduated from Baylor in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and was first elected to the university’s Board of Regents in 2014. As a member of the Board of Regents, he has served on the Finance and Facilities Committee, the Advancement and Development Committee, and the Executive Committee.
Remarking on his time at Baylor University, Hurd said, “I love this school and what it did for me.” Hurd says that his time at Baylor taught him about leadership and time management, noting, “I had to manage my time. I had to divide it into certain pieces so that I’d get as much done as I possibly could. And I had to have the discipline to stay focused on the most important things that needed to get done.”
