About Mark Hurd
Mark Hurd is the Chief Executive Officer of Oracle Corporation, a member of the Oracle board of directors, and a 30-year technology industry veteran. After joining Oracle in 2010 as President, Mark Hurd became CEO of Oracle in 2014, and oversees Oracle’s global field operations with a focus on strategy, innovation, leadership, and customers. Prior to his tenure at Oracle, Mark served as Chairman of the Board, CEO, and president of HP.
A leader known for efficiency and success, Mark Hurd was listed as one of Fortune Magazine’s 25 Most Powerful People in Business in 2007 and one of Forbes’ Best Managers for 2009. He was honored multiple times by Business 2.0 magazine as one of the 50 Who Matter Now and by Barron’s in its Best CEOs lists. Mark has appeared on CRN’s 25 Most Influential Executives list on three separate occasions, and was twice one of CRN’s Top 25 Executives. In 2008, The San Francisco Chronicle awarded Mark Hurd the title of CEO of the Year.
Mark Hurd graduated from Baylor University in 1979, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration while he attended the university on a tennis scholarship. Mark continues to display his passion for both tennis and Baylor University by supporting Baylor’s national championship tennis program through philanthropic donations to upgrade and renovate facilities in the Hurd Tennis Building, which is part of the Hurd Tennis Center. He also supports the Baylor Bear Foundation and the Men’s Tennis Excellence Fund. Mark Hurd was honored with the 2012-2013 Baylor Meritorious Achievement Award—the Baylor Legacy Award—in recognition of his extraordinary service and philanthropy to Baylor. Mark continues to serve Baylor University as a member of the Baylor University Board of Regents.
